About the Event

Join us for yoga and dune planting on May 19th!

1pm - The Yoga Space are holding a community yoga class for $5 koha - all proceeds going to Taranaki Retreat!

2pm - Sand dune planting!!

We are planting between the Surf Club and the Waimoku Stream. Meet at the beach access just south of the Surf Club. Look for the flags!

These dunes are so important for accumulating sand and protecting the land behind from erosion, as we have seen over the past few months of king tides and cyclones. Native sand binding grasses - spinifex and pingao also provide habitat for biodiversity and make the beach look beautiful too!

BRING: your whole family! ( please keep any dogs under control)

trowel or spade - we will have a limited number available

suitable clothing for the weather

If you are local business keen to get behind us and support this event with either donations of spot prizes or kai for afterwards, or even helping to promote the event, we would love to hear from you!
